The Studio
The Dana Dança Oriental Egípcia studio was born in 2014 as a project based on the experiences of dancer Dana Farida.
Seeking an appropriate environment for specialized learning, valuing the technical and artistic quality of each modality, with respect for cultural tradition.
The courses were designed to meet the expectations of any student, through free and professional courses, for beginners, advanced people and different tribes. From Ballet to Hip Hop.
Focusing on practice and accompanied by a solid theoretical base and proposing several other "artistic experiences" such as shows and presentations, with a professional structure and group activities where students exchange experiences, generating knowledge.
The studio's commitment is to promote quality education, developing artistic potential, stimulating creativity, expanding sensitivity and promoting critical thinking. To achieve this, both the structure and new teaching practices are always observed within the studio environment.
We believe that the study of the arts, especially dance, is fundamental for the transformation and humanization of a better society.
Our Modalities
Egyptian Oriental Dance - It is one of the most recognized Egyptian cultural manifestations worldwide. Also called 'raqs sharqi', the dance has played an important role in the country's culture since Ancient Egypt. Despite having originated in Egypt, belly dancing is practiced in various parts of the world.
Classic ballet -It is the most traditional form of Ballet. His technique is highly academic and very methodical. Within this style, we have the French, Italian and Russian schools, for example. This regional distinction means that ballet has some variations from country to country.
Rhythmic gymnastics - is a style of gymnastics developed based on body movements inspired by elements of ballet and theatrical dance.
Tap dance - its main characteristic is the noises that dancers produce with their shoes in contact with the floor, making the dancers' feet true percussion instruments.
Flamenco - is art that communicates through the body using hands, striking facial expressions and feet accompanied by striking tap steps. It is the body reacting to the sound of the guitar or the lyrics of the song that personifies pain, abandonment, loneliness, contempt, joy, love, desire.
Burlesque - aim to entertain the public in a satirical way. They usually do this by putting on a comedic parody-style performance. The best way to experience burlesque is to watch it – or try it yourself!
Gypsy Dance - is marked by steps that use every inch of the body, including the fingers.
Contemporary - Dance is characterized by proposing intense innovations and choreographic experiments, which often mix rhythms such as ballet, jazz and hip hop.
Jazz - is a musical style that descends from the slavery of black people, where they used dance as a way to remain active in the face of the precarious circumstances they lived at the time.
Flexibility - it is a physical ability and can be easily trainable. It depends on joint mobility and muscle elasticity.
Pole dancing - is an exercise that combines dance and gymnastics. It is the execution of a series of movements on a vertical bar, whether choreographed or not, requiring strength, flexibility, balance and endurance.
